The other assessments: Community Health Status, Community Themes and Strengths, and Forces of Change were completed in a retreat attended by the BACH Steering Committee, Health Planning and Improvement Committee (HPICom) and leaders of the BACH affiliated coalitions. The data from the neighborhood-based assessments were gathered and analyzed. BACH also had done focus groups in Roslindale, Hyde Park, Mission Hill, and North Dorchester to make sure the voices of those neighborhoods were heard.

This summer, members of the HPICom will be working on synthesizing the data from all this assessment work. That data analysis will be the basis for a community meeting on the evening of Thursday, September 12 at the Mattapan Library on Blue Hill Avenue (details to follow). At this meeting we will work together to identify what the key strategic questions will be that BACH and its members will develop strategies and goals to address.

All this work will result in a strategic health plan that we will work on implementing on the citywide level and the neighborhoods levels over the next few years.
